2014 Elderton Ashmead Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

Matured in French oak for 22 months. Totally opaque midnight black dark red colour with a dark red black tinged hue. The nose exhibits ripe plummy blackcurrant, black cherry and liquorice top notes which hold their own over toasty vanillin cedar, hints of black olive and spice. Full in body and packed with rich opulent fruits the palate is decked out with luscious plummy blackcurrant and liquorice flavours over toasty vanillin cedar, traces of tobacco and spice. The tannins appear velvet like yet are quite robust. Excellent length with a long aftertaste of plummy blackcurrant, liquorice, toasty vanillin cedar and spicy tobacco.
