2014 Domaine Serene Yamhill Cuvee Pinot Noir

Domaine Serene’s Yamhill Cuvee is sourced from the Oregon sub districts Dundee Hills, Eola-Amity Hills, and Yamhill-Carlton and is matured for 14 months in French oak, 43% new.

Deep dark red black tinged core with a dark red hue. Flagrantly scented the nose exhibits subtle violet top notes with more prominent ripe dark cherry, plum and dark strawberry aromas then moving in. There’s also a distinct yet delicate dried clove character overlaying the fruit with lightly smoked vanillin cedar and spice ensuing. Rich and silky yet showing more finesse than the Evenstad the palate is decorated with dark cherry and wild strawberry flavours over some less prominent anise, lightly toasted cedar, earthy dried herbs and spice. Perfectly integrated velvety tannins have a seamless feel. Magnificent power with a long finish of ripe dark cherries, wild strawberries, subtle anise, lightly smoked cedar, dried herbs and spice that shows great persistence. Delicious drinking now but will also cellar 6-8 years.
