2014 Coriole Nero d'Avola

After a trip to Sicily Coriole was inspired to plant some Nero d’Avola grapes. The southern parts of Sicily are climatically quite similar to South Australia and as a result it was felt that the variety would be a suitable fit for McLaren Vale.

With its refreshing natural acidity and supple texture this is a delightful fruity red to drink over the Summer months

Semi translucent bright dark crimson red colour with a bright crimson red hue. Showing excellent intensity on the nose aromas of fresh ripe red cherries and dark raspberries are followed by some incense and spice. Juicy and inviting with medium body weight the palate delivers delicious flavours of dark raspberries, ripe red cherries and a touch of liquorice with a spicy finish. Fresh acidity with soft very fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of ripe dark raspberries, a hint of liquorice, subtle earth and spice.
Drink over the next 1-2 years.
