2013 Zema Estate Cluny Cabernet Merlot

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with small contributions of Malbec and Cabernet Franc also included. Maturation taking place in a combination of French and America oak for 14 months. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a deep dark red hue. Lifted ripe blackcurrant and mulberry top notes overlay infusions of bay leaf, light cedary tobacco characters and spice. Medium bodied with good mid palate richness from the blackcurrant and mulberry fruit, nuances of mint, lightly toasted cedar, earth and spice are also apparent. Quite smooth in its mouthfeel with very fine grained well integrated tannins. Concludes with an aftertaste of blackcurrant infused with mint, ripe mulberries, earthy cedar and spice.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
