2013 Yarra Yering Dry Red No. 2

A blend of Shiraz, Mataro, Viognier and Marsanne. Opaque black dark red colour with a dark red black tinged hue. The nose is very fragrant with plum, liquorice and a touch of fennel overlaid by some smokiness. Very subtle yet exotic notes of dried apricot, honeysuckle and spice follow on. Medium weight with excellent richness and an elegant round supple mouthfeel the palate has flavours of plum, liquorice, smoky cedar, faint dried apricot and spice. Velvet smooth satin like tannins. Long finish of liquorice, smoky cedar, plum, dried meats and spice.
