2013 Whistler Hubert Irving Red Blend

A blend of 40% Merlot, 23% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Grenache and 17% Mataro. Opaque black dark red colour with a very dark red hue. The nose reveals aromatics of ripe plum, dark raspberries and liquorice over some vanillin oak and a hint of spicy scorched earth. Medium weight the palate has juicy flavours of ripe dark plum and blackcurrant over a background of toasty oak, earth and spice. Quite supple upon entry the tannins provide some grip on the dryish finish. Aftertaste of ripe blackcurrant, toasty oak, earth and spice.
Cellar 2-3 years.
