2013 Walnut Block Nutcracker Pinot Noir

Possesses all of the attributes of a top New Zealand Pinot Noir

Semi translucent bright dark crimson red colour with a crimson red hue. Very perfumed, scents of violets, ripe dark cherries and dark plum blossom from the glass followed by anise, toasty cedar and spice. Rich, supple and round with good freshness on the finish the palate features sumptuous flavours of ripe dark cherries, ripe strawberries and plum followed by some light anise and spicy toasty cedar. Superb power wave with good balanced acidity, this is still a relatively youthful Pinot but will build complexity with time. Very fine grained perfectly integrated tannins. Long aftertaste of ripe dark cherries, strawberries, plum and spicy anise and toasty cedar.
