2013 Vue on Halcyon Merlot

Deep very dark red black colour with a dark brick red hue showing signs of advanced aging. Gurkin and tobacco leaf notes dominate the nose with some ripe mulberry, herbaceous characters and spicy cedar also chiming in. Medium bodied with a supple entry, initial mulberry flavours are overtaken by green gurkin like characters, tobacco leaf, dried herbs and spice. Dries out on the finish and turns a touch bitter with a short gurkin infused aftertaste.
