2013 Voyager Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot

A blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot matured for 18 months in French oak of which 50% was new and 50% two year old. Totally opaque black dark red core with a deep dark red hue. Elevated blackcurrant aromas are tinged with hints of liquorice and black olive underpinned by cedary tobacco and bay leaf notes. Rich blackcurrant and subtle mulberry flavours flood the medium bodied palate showcasing both power and elegance. Traces of liquorice, light cedary tobacco characters, earth and infusions of bay leaf add complexity. Very polished and refined tannins are perfectly integrated with the fruit. Superb length with a very persistent aftertaste of blackcurrant, subtle mulberry, traces of liquorice, cedary tobacco characters, earth and bay leaf.
