Luján de Cuyo, is known historically as the ‘prime zone’ for wine-growing in Mendoza. Its high elevation location, in combination with a semi-desert climate and low-nutrient gravelly soils provide ideal conditions for cultivation of high quality fruit. Matured for 17 months in a mixture of French and American oak barrels (31% new with the balance second use), the Bramare Lujan de Cuyo Malbec shows more structural elegance in comparison to the Valle de Uco whilst still possessing exceptional richness within a robust framework.

Impenetrable inky black colour with a deep bright dark red black tinged hue. Pronounced aromas of black cherries and blackberries laced with hints of liquorice evolve from the glass with some vanillin chocolate, toasty oak and blackpepper following on. Large scaled and richly textured the palate is swamped with black cherry, ripe blackcurrant and liquorice fruit flavours underpinned by toasty vanillin cedar and blackpepper. A solidly built tannin structure flexes is muscles but is largely obscured by the cascading waves of fruit that saturate the palate. Outstanding power wave with a long aftertaste of black cherries, blackcurrant, liquorice, toasty vanillin cedar and pepper.
Cellar 6-8 years.
