2013 Vasse Felix Filius Cabernet Merlot

A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot and 10% Malbec with maturation taking place in French oak (8% new and 92% 1-5 year old) for a period of 12 months.

Opaque black dark red colour with a bright dark red hue. The nose exhibits mulberry and blackcurrant top notes with following cedary tobacco characters, black olive and a faint hint of spicy bay leaf as an end note. Possessing classic Margaret River elegance along with good richness the palate features flavours of mulberries and blackcurrants over spicy cedar and tobacco like characters with a touch of bay leaf also present. Excellent structure with slightly dry but very fine grained tannins. Long finish of mulberries, spicy cedar, tobacco and black olives.
Cellar 5-6 years.
