Valle Secreto are a small producer with 36 Ha of low cropping vines (mostly Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz and Carmenere) They’re committed to producing wines from varieties which “express their potential with the local climate and special characteristic of the soil they are in.” Not that the Chileans don’t believe some places are better than others to grow grapes. 'Alto Cachapoal' is located in the newly designated (although still voluntary) Andes geographic zone and is warmer and drier than the coastal regions, and has greater diurnal temperature variation than vineyards on the wide valley floor.

A Terrific Carmenere exhibiting both richness and finesse.

Opaque black red colour with a dark crimson red hue. The nose offers up scents of blackcurrant and subtle liquorice which are overlaid by cedary tobacco characters, a hint of black olive and spice. Medium to full bodied with terrific richness and finesse the palate is filled with ripe blackcurrants intermingling with traces of liquorice and black cherries over cedary tobacco characters and spice. The very fine grained tannins are superbly integrated and almost velvet like. Excellent depth with a long finish of blackcurrant, subtle liquorice, cedary tobacco characters and spice.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc 14.5%
