2013 Tscharke Gnadenfrei Shiraz

Totally opaque inky black core with a very deep dark purple black hue. Nosing reveals aromas of liquorice intermeshed with freshly crushed blackberry and plum notes followed by vanillin cedar and spice. Full bodied and beautifully textured with a supple mouthfeel the palate features rich flavours of liquorice and ripe blackberries alongside some dark plum with following nuances of vanillin cedar and spice. Superb balance with the wine possessing ample richness and power, yet seemingly weightless. Perfectly integrated velvet smooth tannins. Very long aftertaste of liquorice, ripe blackberries, vanillin cedar, spice and pepper. A sumptuous and deftly balanced Barossa Shiraz.
