Fruit was sourced from Don Helbig’s Block 2 located at Roennfeldt Road in Marananga. Magnificent impenetrable inky black core with an equally deep black dark red hue. The tightly wound nose reveals dark plum, liquorice, lightly smoked vanillin cedar and spicy pepper notes. Rich dark plum and liquorice fruit saturate the palate within a stern rock like feel. Lurking beneath is plenty of bright acidity and a muscular tannin structure that provide the wine with a firm framework. Elements of vanillin oak, graphite and pepper are also evident on the finish. Long rich, peppery aftertaste. A very structured Torbreck Shiraz that has a long life ahead of it.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc. 15.5%
