2013 Tim McNeil Shiraz

Matured in 20% new French oak hogsheads for 24 months. Magnificent colour saturation with an inky black core and a very deep dark purple black hue. Lifted aromas of dark plums and liquorice emanate from the glass followed by some more subtle black cherry scents, vanillin cedar and spice. Rich and opulent the palate delivers luscious plushly textured flavours of liquorice, blackberries and black cherries over a background of dried meats, vanillin cedar and pepper. Slightly chewy finish with velvet like yet structural tannins. Long aftertaste of blackberries, liquorice, black cherries, toasty vanillin cedar, subtle dried meats and pepper.
