2013 Tim Adams Aberfeldy Shiraz
Matured in new American oak hogsheads for 24 months. Totally impenetrable inky black colour with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Intense aromas of ripe dark plum, blackberries, liquorice and dark chocolate sail through the nostrils followed by lightly toasted vanillin oak, a hint of earthy mocha and spice. Rich with a plush slippery mouthfeel the full bodied palate boasts a concentrated flavour profile of luscious blackberries, ripe dark plums and liquorice with underlying elements of dark chocolate mint, vanillin cedar and light earth with a spicy finish. There’s a sturdy feel to the tannins which apply ample structural attributes yet appear quite velvety beneath the cascading waves of opulent fruit. Excellent power with a long aftertaste of spicy blackberries, dark plum, liquorice, chocolatey vanillin cedar, light mint and scorched earth.
