Aged for 12 months in 80% French and 20% American oak of which 30% was new. Totally opaque inky black colour with a deep crimson purple hue. Nosing reveals aromas of inky black cherries and liquorice with a toasty overlay and following earth and spice notes. The palate delivers rich black cherry, blackcurrant and liquorice flavours overlaid by toasty oak, scorched earth and spice. Dry structured finish with slightly chalky tannins. Aftertaste of black cherries, blackcurrant, toasty oak, scorched earth and spice.
