2013 Tenuta Ulisse Amaranta di Ulisse Montepulciano d'Abruzzo

Excellent colour displaying a totally opaque black purple core with a bright purple red hue. Nosing offers up aromas of ripe dark cherries, liquorice and dark plums over some smoky earth and spicy dried herb nuances. Full bodied and rich with a soft rounded textural feel the palate’s initial fruit flavours of ripe succulent dark cherries, black plums and touches of liquorice are over taken by a strong vanillin oak component on the back palate with some spice also evident. Soft velvety tannins and low acidity with an aftertaste of vanillin oak, ripe dark cherries, black plum and spice.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
