2013 Te Mata Merlot Cabernets

Opaque black purple colour with a youthful bright dark purple hue. Nosing reveals scents of freshly crushed berries including mulberry and dark cherry over a background of dusty cedar, light tobacco and spice. Light to medium bodied and elegantly textured the palate features flavours of fresh ripe mulberries and dark cherries over some cedar, inky earth like characters and spice. Dryish finish with fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of ripe mulberries, earth, cedar and spice.
