2013 Tatachilla Shiraz

Superb inky black purple colour with a deep dark purple black hue. Pronounced liquorice, ripe blackberry and fresh dark cherry aromas overlay spicy vanillin oak with blackpepper end notes. Rich and opulent the wine is still relatively youthful possessing an inky chewy mouthfeel with generous flavours of liquorice and ripe blackberries to the fore followed by some vanillin oak and spice. Firm solid tannins combine with bright acidity to give the palate a tight chewy finish. Aftertaste of inky liquorice, ripe blackberries and spicy vanillin oak. Requires some patience – will get better.
