'Ruadh Maor' is the name Glenturret use for their peated distillate. This one spent three years finishing in new charred oak. A mild roasted nuttiness to the nose, then definitively sweet and sooty in later sniffs with trace fruitiness and a dried herbal note contributing freshness. Echoes on the palate, riddled with delicious peat reek, accentuating with sweet wood smoke, chimney soot and salted vanilla completing the profile. Lively citrus and salinity pick up the finish. Unmistakably a Highland peater, though more punch than many an Ardmore, and with all the the right stuff in the right places. 307 bottles. 55.9% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.
