2013 Signatory Vintage Exclusive Selection Ink #4 Collection Single Cask Linkwood 8 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Founded in 1821, Linkwood is located in Elgin in the Moray region of Speyside. It participated in the development of many blends including Johnnie Walker, before being put on hold between 1985 and 1990. With few official bottlings to its credit, it's independent like Signatory who pick up the slack. Typically a deliciously fruity, textural malt, this youthful edition was selected for the French retailer, Le Comptoir Irlandais. Finishing in second-fill sherry cask #112 adds another layer of interest. 52% Alc./Vol. Non chill-filtered.

Notes from the bottlers... Nose: very lively and full of character, on spices, then floral, herbaceous, cereal notes, lots of freshness, fruits from the orchard. Palate: all in balance and power, fresh barley, tangy fruits (Granny Smith apple), pastry spices. Finish: fresh and fiery.
