Impenetrable midnight black core with a very deep dark red black hue. Pronounced black plum, black cherry and liquorice aromas are set against some initial varnishy characters which blow off with airing. Vanillin oak, mocha and spice notes follow. Rich with a dense opulent mouthfeel, lavish flavours of liquorice, black plum and blackberry are backed by firm chewy tannins. Vanillin oak and spicy mocha are also evident. Long robust aftertaste of liquorice, black plum, blackberry, toasty vanillin oak and spicy pepper.
