2013 Reillys R Watervale Riesling

Following on from the outstanding 2012 vintage, 2013 was another scintillating season in the Clare Valley. The long, cool and mostly dry conditions were perfectly scripted to create intense fruit flavours supported by high natural acidities.

Reilly's really lead the pack in the $10- $15 bracket when it comes to hugely flavoursome Shiraz and Riesling.

This shows a little more acidity and intensity than their $10 'Ryder' Riesling which also comes highly recommended. Brilliant water like colour with distinctive greenish tinge around the edges and watery hue. The nose displays intense lime and lemon aromas followed by a hint of orange rind and some talc mineral like end notes. Reflective of the nose the palate is dominated by lime and lemon flavours followed by some talc and mineral. Clean crisp crunchy acid finish. Clean crisp crunchy acid finish. Long aftertaste of lime, lemon and steely mineral. Drink now or cellar 5-6 years.
