2013 Reillys R Cabernet Sauvignon

The R range from Reillys rarely disappoints and for those who like their Cabernets big and rich to the point of almost being Shiraz like in terms of their weight and texture, this will be no exception.
Totally opaque black dark red colour with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Intense aromas of liquorice, cassis and choc mint waft from the glass with underlying vanillin cedar and spice. Rich, opulent and possessing excellent concentration the palate has a distinct choc mint character with flavours of ripe blackcurrant, liquorice and spicy vanillin cedar also present. What is lacks in pure varietal character is more than compensated for in concentration and richness. Excellent length with the fine grained tannin structure having an underlying firmness which adds a sense of chewiness to the back palate. Long aftertaste of liquorice, choc mint, ripe blackcurrant, vanillin cedar and spice.
