Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark brick red hue. Blackcurrant and liquorice aromas overlaid with earth and leather emanate from the glass trailed by vanillin cedar and a faint whiff of varnish. Mid weighted, velvety and well fleshed, ripe blackcurrant and liquorice fruits are overwhelmed by earth, old vanillin cedar and leather characters on the back half. Smooth integrated tannin structure with earthy leather elements lingering through the finish. Requires an appreciation for aged wines with lots of tertiary characteristics.

Alc. 13.5%

Other Reviews….
Good colour; this has far more to say at the present time than the Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot; while the French oak is obvious, there is ample cassis fruit and fine tannins to provide both balance and length. Drink by 2033.
