2013 Quarisa Treasures Coonawarra Merlot

Totally opaque black dark red colour with a deep very dark red hue. Nosing conjures up aromas of ripe dark plums, hints of liquorice and dark chocolate over spicy vanillin cedar. Very full bodied for Merlot and possessing a juicy like richness, mouthfilling flavours of ripe blackcurrant, dark plums and chocolate bullets are followed by vanillin cedar infusions. Dry spicy finish with velvet smooth tannins. Finishes with an aftertaste of ripe blackcurrant, chocolate bullets and spicy vanillin oak. A big juicy Merlot that’s almost Shiraz like in terms of its richness and weight.
