Opaque dark red black core with a bright dark red hue. Pronounced aromatics of dark cherries intermixed with hints of dried cherries and liquorice are pursued by earthy cedar, a touch of leather and dried herb notes. Medium bodied flavours of dark and dried cherries intermix with earthy dried herb nuances, leather and spicy cedar. The overall feeling is one of savoury elegance with rustic tannins imparting some dryness on the finish. Aftertaste of dried and dark cherries, earthy dried herbs, leather and spicy cedar.

Other Reviews….
Beautifully tempered and contoured, the 2013 Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Don Tommaso offers a great level of balance, intensity and varietal identity. This is a fine wine from the folks at Principe Corsini's celebrated Villa Le Corti estate in San Casciano in Val di Pesa. In fact, this is one of the best wines I have yet to taste from this property. The bouquet is fine and elegant with a steady stream of bright fruit and savory spice aromas. Some 20% Merlot is added to this Sangiovese-based wine. It offers medium density and long persistence. It should age forward over the next decade. Drink 2017-2028.
