2013 Poggio Al Tesoro Mediterra

Excellent depth of colour displaying an impenetrable black core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Elevated ripe blackcurrant and dark cherry aromas drift from the glass followed by old cedar, earthy tobacco and spicy dried herb notes. Rich blackcurrant flavours dominate the medium to full bodied palate with dark cherry, scorched earth, vanillin cedar and spicy dried herb elements ensuing. Dry finish with firm, rustic tannins imparting a sense of chewiness to the mouthfeel. Long ripe blackcurrant, dark cherry, subtle liquorice, earthy leather, old vanillin cedar and spicy dried herb aftertaste.
