2013 Pikes Eastside Shiraz

Opaque black purple colour with a very dark purple hue. The nose displays good aromatics with liquorice, blackberry and meaty blackpepper scents prevalent over a background of toasty vanillin cedar. Medium to full bodied the palate possesses succulent flavours of liquorice and black cherries followed by some meaty characters, toasty cedar and blackpepper. Dryish finish with solidly constructed yet fine grained tannins. Excellent depth and richness with a long aftertaste of blackberries, liquorice, meaty characters, lightly toasted cedar and pepper.
