2013 Mermerus Pinot Noir

Matured in French oak barriques for 12 months. Semi translucent dark red purple colour with a crimson purple hue. The nose is very perfumed displaying attractive subtle violet top notes, ripe dark cherries, plum and strawberry jam over a background of spicy cedar. Light to medium weight, savoury and generous the palate possesses supplely textured flavours of ripe dark cherries and dark plum with a spicy overlay and some underlying meaty cedar like characters. Velvet smooth perfectly integrated tannins. Long delicious aftertaste of spicy ripe dark cherries, plum, strawberries and subtle meatiness.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
