Aged in a combination of seasoned French and American oak. Totally opaque black dark red colour with a dark purple red hue. The nose offers up aromas of ripe blackcurrant, black cherries and liquorice over a background of cigar box and spice. Big, rich and opulent the palate delivers flavours of ripe blackcurrants, dark plums and subtle liquorice followed by some cedar and spice. The finish is quite fresh with a sturdy firmly built tannin structure. Aftertaste of ripe blackcurrants, liquorice, cedar and spice.
