Brilliant very pale straw almost water like colour with a distinctive greenish tinge around the edges and a watery hue. Showing good intensity, complexity and refinement aromas of nectarine and white peaches are intermixed with biscuity oak and smoky gun flint like characters followed by subtle dried honey notes and roasted almond like characters. Rich, very long and powerful in the mouth the palate also great structural line and focus. Mouthfilling flavours of white peaches and ripe nectarines over some cashew, lightly toasted biscuity oak, gun flint infusions, subtle dried honey and spice. Only moderately creamy at present but still relatively full it will build in texture with bottle age. Fresh acidity on the dry finish. Long aftertaste of white peaches, nectarines, smoky gun flint infusions, cashew and spice. Refined and structured this is first rate Leeuwin Chardonnay.
Cellar 5-6 years.
Alc 13.5%

Other Reviews....
55% machine-picked at night, 45% hand-picked, 64% cultured yeast, 36% wild yeast, fermented in and matured for 11 months in new French oak. Supremely elegant and finely balanced, and has absorbed the new oak in a manner worthy of a Grand Cru White Burgundy, leaving the fragrant bouquet and finely structured palate of startling length to occupy centre stage. Drink by 2033.

Elegant and graceful, this opens to supple lemon and tangerine flavors, accented by spice, cedar, mineral and white floral touches. Everything is precise and supple, with a juicy touch on the epic finish. Drink now through 2026.
