2013 Gomersal Reserve Shiraz

Matured in a combination of new and aged American oak hogsheads for 3 years.
Totally opaque impenetrable inky black core with a deep dark red black tinged hue. Heady aromas of ripe blackberries, liquorice and black cherries waft from the glass underscored by toasty vanillin oak, dark chocolate and spice. Big, rich and opulently textured with a solid base of muscular tannins providing some grip. Chewy feel with ripe blackberries, liquorice, dark plums and black cherry flavours saturating the palate over dark chocolate, toasty oak and spice. Firm, dry finish with a medium to long aftertaste of blackberries, liquorice, dark plums, toasty vanillin oak, dark chocolate and spice. Requires some cellaring time for the tannins to better integrate.
