2013 Elysian Springs Silent Waters Pinot Noir

Matured in a combination of new (50%) and seasoned French oak hogsheads. Semi translucent dark red colour with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. Aromas of spicy ripe dark cherries and strawberries are overlaid by some earthy characters with toasty anise following on. Supple in texture the palates initial spicy ripe dark cherry and strawberry flavours are supressed by earth and toasty cedar. Dryish finish with fine grained tannins. Aftertaste of spice, dark cherries, earth and toasty cedar.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
