2013 Elderton Merlot

Matured for 18 months in predominately French oak puncheons. Opaque dark red black colour with a dark red hue. Aromas of ripe dark cherries and dark plum are intermixed with a hint of dark chocolate followed by earthy vanillin cedar and spice. Medium weight with a soft round mouthfeel the palate has flavours of dark cherries and plum shaded by some dark chocolate nuances over a background of vanillin cedar and spicy earth. Very fine grained velvet like tannins. Aftertaste of dark plums, dark chocolate, vanillin cedar and spicy earth.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
