2013 Claxton's Exploration Series Dailuaine 8 Year Old Single Cask Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)

Another oloroso sherry-influenced dram from Claxton's latest outturn. Light and breezy on the nose with a dried grass / citrus edge to the malty opening sniffs before richer notes of sponge-cake come through. It's more assertive and full-bodied on delivery with cream sponge cake and tea biscuit flavours dovetailing into a crisp, lip-smacking finish. The drier palate and understated sherry input makes this a satisfying aperitif. 50% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.
