2013 Brokenwood Shiraz

Fruit was sourced from McLaren Vale, Hunter Valley and Beechworth regions with maturation taking place in a combination of new and old French oak for 15 months. Totally opaque black colour with a deep dark red black hue. The McLaren Vale component appears to dominate the nose with ripe blackberry, liquorice and black cherry aromatics prevailing over hints of dark chocolate, vanillin cedar and spicy pepper. Full and rich, luscious blackberry, black cherry and liquorice flavours flood the palate over vanillin cedar, subtle earth and spicy pepper. Slightly chewy but ripe tannins. Long ripe black cherry, blackberry, liquorice, earthy vanillin cedar and spicy pepper aftertaste.
