Sourced from Grenache bush vines planted in 1957 the wine was aged in French oak for 18 months. Deep dark red colour with black tinged edges and a dark red hue. Nosing reveals black raspberry, dark plum and liquorice aromas which overlay vanillin oak and spicy earth. Juicy dark raspberry, plum and liquorice flavours dance across the palate. Fleshy mouthfeel finishing very spicy with some vanillin cedar also present. Velvet smooth tannins. Medium to long aftertaste of spicy dark raspberries, plum, liquorice and vanillin cedar.
