2013 Atze's Corner Forgotten Hero Shiraz

Matured for 18 months in new French oak barrels. Impenetrable black as night core with a deep dark red black hue. Expressive notes of black cherry and liquorice rise from the glass riding over a background of toasty oak, dried meats, black olive and blackpepper. Boasting formidable richness and concentration the palate is saturated with opulent flavours of ripe black cherries, liquorice and blackberries with an undercurrent of toasty oak, some dried meats and spicy blackpepper. The sturdy tannin structure largely concealed by the huge core of luscious black fruit. Superb power with a long spicy black cherry, liquorice, toasty oak, dried meat and blackpepper aftertaste.
