2012 Zema Estate Coonawarra Shiraz

Matured in a combination of French and American oak for 14 months this wine opens with an opaque black dark red colour and dark red hue. The nose exhibits aromas of liquorice and blackberries which are followed by some earthy vanillin cedar and spice. Soft and supple in the mouth with good richness the palate features flavours of liquorice and blackberries intermixed with toasty vanillin oak over some subtle earth and spice. Velvet smooth tannins. Medium to long aftertaste of liquorice, blackberries, toasty vanillin oak, faint earth and spice.
Drink over the next 3-4 years.
