2012 Yalumba Y Series Viognier

A great buy.
In cooler climates Viognier produces a very aromatic wine which can be even more exotic than Gewurztraminer. The range of aromas can best be described as super ripe, exotic tropical fruits. This is a terrific introduction to the style. Brilliant pale straw colour with distinctive greenish tinge around the edges and watery hue. The nose displays lifted apricot scents followed by some tropical fruits and a touch of honeysuckle. Delivering excellent concentration for its price point the palate possesses mouthfilling flavours of apricot, some lychee, honeysuckle and spice. Clean finish with lychee, apricot and spicy honeysuckle aftertaste.
Drink over the next 2-3 years (2012-2015).
