A sumptuous Barossa Shiraz possessing superb fruit purity, richness and depth

Outstanding colour displaying a saturated inky black core with a very deep dark purple black hue. The nose presents a superb sniff of ripe blackberries, liquorice and dark plums alongside nuances of subtle dark chocolate, vanillin cedar and spice. Rich and opulent, yet controlled, the palate has layers of expressive fruit including flavours of ripe blackberries, liquorice and dark plums that swamp the palate with underlying dark chocolate, vanillin cedar and spice characters. A plush fleshy texture combines with velvet smooth yet structural tannins. Tremendous power and depth with a very long conclusion of ripe blackberries, liquorice, subtle dark chocolate and spicy vanillin cedar.
Cellar 6-8 years.
Alc 13.5%

Other Reviews…
Dense crimson-purple hue, still 100% youthful; this is a mighty wine, with awesome concentration and power; as always, a handwritten sticker lab label says nothing whatsoever about the wine - extremely frustrating when it is as good as this. Black fruits, licorice and almost velvety tannins fill the mouth with contentment, frustration to one side. Drink by 2037.
