2012 Signatory Vintage Longmorn 12 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml) - 56.9%
"A tropical fruit-fest from an overlooked distillery" - dramface.com
This bright gold coloured Longmorn from a Bourbon barrel departs from the sherry influence that's almost standard for Signatory, instead opting for a vibrant and fruity expression. 226 bottles were filled at 56.9% Alc./Vol. Non chill filtered.
Other reviews... The palate pretty much delivers on the nose. There’s a little vanilla, but generally speaking the story here is one of tropical fruits and confectionery. I get boiled sweets – pear drops, specifically – and some aniseed balls, along with some orange zest, some water melon, some coconut, some more lychee and some pineapple. There’s also a slightly tannic note, which shows itself in the form of black tea and a hint of chamomile. If I dig around for it, I can also find some lavender, although it is quite subtle... this is very good whisky. If you like your tropical, ex-bourbon matured, single cask expressions, then you could do a lot worse than hunting down a bottle of this. - dramface.com
