2012 Signatory Vintage Longmorn 12 Year Old Cask Strength Single Malt Scotch Whisky (700ml)
Why would you consider Longmorn's official 16 year old when you can score this beauty at a bargain price? We have cask #914, however Signatory have released a number of sister barrels. It seems the flawless bourbon casks consistently bring out notes of coconut, green orchard fruits, honey and cereals - a profile that's admittedly "middle-of-the-road" for Scottish Highlanders, but none the worse for that. This cask yielded 229 bottles. Non chill filtered. 58.3% Alc./vol.
Other reviews... Nice bourbon moped! Urgently needs water, once the bliss point is found, pure enjoyment is the reward! Nose: First citric acid, slightly burnt caramel, then local orchard with surrounding flower meadow, some wood spice. Taste: Repetition of the nose. The wood spice is a little bitter, over time the bitterness decreases and the fruit notes and the caramel sweetness increase, additionally developing herbal notes. Nice, oily mouthfeel. Finish: Medium length, slightly dry. Apples (Grannie Smith) and wood spice. - whiskybase.com
