2012 Sevenhill St Ignatius Cabernets

Inspired by the wines of Pomerol, Bordeaux this superb blend is comprised of 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot, 14% Malbec and 9% Cabernet Franc with maturation taking place in a combination of old and new French oak for approximately 24 months.

A Robust Cabernet Blend, combining the structural components of classic Bordeaux varieties with Clare Valley’s richness.

A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Cabernet Franc. Outstanding colour displaying an inky black core with a very deep black dark crimson red hue. Heavily scented ripe blackcurrant aromas intermix with some dark chocolate and vanillin cedar followed by hints of tobacco, bay leaf and spice. Big, powerful and rich the palate is bursting at the seams with ripe dark blackcurrant and dark chocolate flavours which overlay some cedary tobacco and spice. A solid, firmly built tannin structure provides the support base and holds in check the powerful fruit. Very long and persistent aftertaste of dark blackcurrants, dark chocolate, cedary tobacco, earth and spice.
