2012 Rockbare Tideway Shiraz

Tideway is Rockbare’s single vineyard wine, this the second release coming from the superb 2012 McLaren Vale vintage. Winemaker Marty O’Flaherty has once again produced a stunningly rich McLaren Vale Shiraz of such fruit concentration that it has been able to easily absorb the 24 months maturation in new American oak.

A massively endowed McLaren Vale Shiraz with an almost overwhelming level of richness and power.

Magnificent depth of colour displaying an impenetrable inky black core with a very deep dark red black hue. A heady bouquet of liquorice, ripe blackberries and dark plums waft from the glass with hints of black cherries, spicy vanillin oak and a faint whiff of earth also apparent. Decadent, extravagantly rich and possessing imposing power the palate is packed to the gills with dense ripe fruit. Explosive liquorice, blackberry and ripe black cherry flavours saturate every corner of the mouth. Underlying nuances of earth, vanillin oak and spice follow on. The solidly built yet velvety tannins melting into the core of voluptuous fruit. Exceptionally long liquorice, blackberry, black cherry, vanillin oak, subtle earth and spice aftertaste.
