2012 Paracombe MacGillivray Shiraz
Dense inky black in colour with a very deep dark brick red black hue. Wafting from the glass are intense liquorice, black cherry and dark plum scents which morph into earthy vanillin cedar, leather and spice notes. Rich, weighty and opulent, the palate is engulfed with lavishly textured liquorice, dark plum and black cherry fruit. Scorched earth, vanillin cedar and spicy leather elements ensue. Ripe velvety tannins with a slightly chewy feel to the back palate. Excellent power with a long plush finish that’s complexed by tertiary characters of leather and earth.
Drink over the next 2-3 years.
