2012 Nicks Secret Pyrenees Cabernet
Magnificent pitch black colour with a very deep black dark red hue. Ripe blackcurrant and liquorice aromas flood the nostrils and are complimented by vanillin cedar, scorched earth, black olive, hints of tobacco and spicy leather. Elegant yet rich, the medium bodied palate features ripe blackcurrant and liquorice fruits over a cedary tobacco, black olive, dried herb, leather and spicy earth back drop. A firm tannin structure holds everything in place and lends some subtle grip to the long chewy finish.
Drink over the next 5-6 years.
Alc. 13.5%
Other Reviews….
Deep crimson-purple; this is an extremely intense, powerful, brooding cabernet, its blackcurrant/earth fruit swathed in tannins. Absolutely not ready to drink, but the guns in the wine's arsenal are of the right size - just be patient. Drink by 2042.
