2012 Montara Shiraz

Opaque black dark red colour with a very dark red hue. Lifted aromas of liquorice and blackberries are overlaid by some smoky vanillin cedar with spicy earth and light pepper end notes. Medium to full bodied the palate has an initial burst of rich blackberry and liquorice fruit which melds into peppered dried meats, smoky vanillin cedar and earth with the peppery characters prevalent on the finish. Fine grained, faintly chewy tannins with a long aftertaste of liquorice, blackberries, peppered dried meats and spicy earth.
Drink over the next 4-5 years.
